I have been a full-time real estate broker since 1984 that has provided me with years of experience working with sellers and buyers. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture and a Master’s Degree in Vocational Technical Education, I first began my career as a soil scientist. It was a 3-year term which broadened my knowledge of land use and farms in the Middle Tennessee area. My interest in real estate stemmed from my parents who invested in real estate while I was growing up. After completing the 3-year term on the soil survey team I began taking real estate classes. Licensed in 1984, I continued my education, obtaining my broker’s license and several designations. A firm believer in continuing education, I update my training and skills for the benefit of sellers and buyers that choose me to represent them. I have served on the board of directors of the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors (MTAR), chaired the Education Committee and I am approved by the real estate commission to teach continuing education in Tennessee. My specialist areas include being a qualified seller and buyer representative, resort & second home advisor, senior real estate advisor, Real Estate Collaborative Specialist-Divorce & Elder Estate. I am one of the few Realtors in this area of Tennessee that holds membership in the Realtors Land Institute (RLI). That membership in RLI includes national as well as international networking that benefits buyers and sellers who wish to sell, relocate or broaden their real estate investments and choose to work with me. All Realtors can sell houses, but not all have the knowledge to sell farms and land.
Attention to each seller and buyer is extremely important. When I am hired to represent a seller or buyer I feel that client expects attention from me, not to be farmed out to assistants or other team members. Therefore, I handle each of my transactions personally from the beginning to the closing. My husband Dan Petty, who is also licensed with Parks stands ready to help when I need additional assistance showing farms or moving paperwork. Whether it is an investment property, commercial income producing, large or small farm, first time home, downsizing or settling an estate, I can be your guide.
